I was visiting Zeeland (in the Netherlands) for a couple of days this week. In a shop in Vlissingen I came across these very detailled cards with metallic accents. I really liked the style, but mostly the effect the mettalic paint gives to them. Went looking for Bug Art's website and unfortunately they don't have pictures bigger than these ones:

It's very basic, but at Neighbourhood Fix-it, people can tell their local government where things need to be fixed. If the road is damaged, street lights aren't working, graffiti you've spotted, etc., you can warn them about this.
The perfect world as I imagine. People are annoyed by these things and can tell their local government easily via the web. The local governments have the advantage that they might have to do less inspections. Furthermore they can see from all the declarations which ones irritate people more than others...
Who will start first in Holland, I wonder.

It was about time someone gave the guy some clothes ;-) Speaking as atheist here... it's a funny approach, but you can't deny that people sticking this up their fridge will start thinking a little bit about religion at the least. Right?
Have you spotted this one somewhere already? It's a campaign Amnesty International has been doing. Smart and eye catching for sure, definitely value the initiative.

It sounds a bit corny, as it's not really cool to express for people my age they listen to classical music, but I really like it. Not every day, but from time to time this music can inspire me very much.
Was watching a documentary about Maxim Vengerov an hour ago, in which he was telling about a special 'adventure' he was busy with (during a month's sabattical). He worked with a composer to develop a story - where they play the piano and several violins. He was telling about this music piece being a beautiful story about life, specifically illustrating it's ups and downs. What he was talking about sounded very familiar to me.
Because... what I like about listening to classical music so much is that it can really tell a story. I always imagine thousands of things when I listen to that kind of music. Are people dancing, walking through a forest, rushing to someones house... If you let your imagination go and honestly listen to the music, odds are that you can also do this. Think about events happening, hear when a part of the 'story' is exciting or happy etc. Sometimes this brings me to a stage beyond daily life and makes me think of very nice concepts and ideas. Just give it a shot - have fun.
This is a very intersting art project where "the people" is actually involved. Antoine Peters is the founding father of this idea, where a sweater makes a tour over the world (started with Europe)... The photo's are collected and Antoine uses them in fashion designs as print on the fabric.
"A SWEATER FOR THE WORLD! is a 2-person sweater with the goal to photograph as many ‘different kinds of people’ as possible inside itself. (...) people and THEIR world have become - and are visualized by - the clothes."
