Lovely little book by Vibe Bredahl

This little book is untitled, but love the soft and sophisticated style. Danish artist Vibe Bredahl created this nice piece of 'art', it was published by Hurricane.

A quote from Book by it's Cover, where I initially found this nice book: "The book comes in a box no bigger than what would normally hold a deck of cards. (...) Both sides tell the same wordless story of a woman who drips color into the trees and onto the ground. She takes the drips from the ground and picks them up as if they were a limp empty balloon. By blowing them up she floats again into the air, only to be shot down by another woman hunter."

Beliefnet is hosting a competition called "Who inspired you most this year?". It's mainly focussing on US and there are 10 nominees left. A quote from their website: "One man landed a plane in the middle of a freezing river, saving everyone aboard. A teen rescued 22 school children from a troubled girl with a gun. Others worked to help people pay their bills, fed the down-and-out, saved people from layoffs, and showed homeless children that someone cares. One couple even danced for the sheer joy of being young and in love."

Today I wanted to share the work of Tracy McAlister with you. She comes from Cyprus and creates "mixed media artworks" which are very inspiring... Not only the specific colors, but also the materials used hughely appeal to me!

Tooth jewelery by Polly van der Glas

This very strange concept for jewelery, made by Polly van der Glas, I found at Lost at E Minor. Polly is an Australian artist and uses teeth from (happy?) donors to create absolute unique jewels.

Next to the teeth-project, Polly also creates stuff out of human hair:

The Bowlingual: know what your dog is saying

Toymaker Takara Tomy has created a gadget called the Bowlingual. The company claims that the device can translate what your dog says into human language. You must be able to read Japanese though... "Jointly developed with an acoustics research laboratory and a veterinarian, the Bowlingual works wirelessly. Let the device catch noises made by your dog and it will analyze the “animal language” with a special algorithm before telling you on the LCD screen what was being “said”." so CruchGear tells us.
